However the quitting in the air and loss of RPM's when pulling off from high throttle are a sure sign of too rich of a low end.... that's of course assuming NO air bubbles, leaks or other plumbing or pulse port problems.
BTW: On one of mine I had tons of problems getting the engine started. And once I did get it started and tuned it seemed like I could not start it again no matter what I did.
I pulled the carb apart and found a couple of brass slivers over/under the flapper valve material. This carb came from walboro with the shavings that way!
While I was in there I cleaned the screen.
After putting everything back together the engine starts SOOOO easily and runs very very well. I've seen the max RPM's rise about 400 RPM or so after the first few flights.
