Tips for cutting out elevator joiner location
Im putting together a 60 size Sbach. The manual gives the option of dual elevator servos or cutting into the elevators for the supplied wood joiner. Can anyone give tips on how to do this in a good way without destroying the elevators, and ensuring a nice fit for even deflection? The manual skips this part(and a bunch of other steps too! smh). Ive done dual elevators in the past, but looking to save as much weight and cost as possible on this one.

I don't think there is a way to do that and also ensure even elevator deflection. it is not possible to mount the servo forward and use a double pushrod to actuate both sides? That's how my Kaos is done, and it works fine.

Lay your stab on a flat bench. Align the elevator halves to the stab tips.
Use the joiner piece as a template. Place it over the elevator halves, and mark the location. Take an exacto knife and cut the notches. Keeping everything flat, and properly aligned, glue the joiner to the halves. I suggest epoxy or wood glue.
When things have dries, you can take a piece of glass cloth and wrap it around the joints, using a thin layer of epoxy to hold it.
