Question Older Spektrum DX7 battery conundrum

Hello everyone,

I recently acquired an older DX7 radio, but it didn't come with a battery for it. I've been trying to see about getting a transmitter battery for this radio, but Spektrum no longer makes one in a 9.6v capacity. I thought about just getting a 2200-2500 maH NiMH 9.6 Transmitter pack and using this, however, I can't seem to locate or find a place that sells the specific battery connector for this radio, and I don't have the original battery to just cut the connector of it and put on a newer pack.

does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on where I can get the spektrum radio connector or options on how to get a battery to work in this radio?

Thanks,
Mikey

You can just use a matching two pole plug from any other application. Unless you plug the battery directly onto the board? I am not using Spektrum so I am not sure how it works on that radio.. I did have a radio that the battery plugged into two pins on the board . I soldered wires and a new set of mini deans plugs into that one.

If by chance you have the correct charger for a life pack and you would like to buy one of the packs from HK check the US warehouse to save on shipping charges. Once in a great while I buy something from HK but only if it's stocked here.

Sorry for the delay in responding, but I did finally get around to trying these LIFE packs mentioned in an earlier post

and i must say that I am very impressed with these batteries. Definitely solved my problem, and for only a fraction of the cost that I thought it would be......

Thank you all for your suggestions and comments.......

I got the Enelope batteries for my Dx7 after a lot of thought. $40 vs. $8 for the LiFe is kind of a no brainer. I guess the Enelopes are higher mah capacity. I noticed I have a few other receivers that will need new batteries too. Maybe another order to HK is due.

Eneloope packs are for those of us that don't want to buy a new charger. I bought a big pack of them for way less then that from Amazon. I was just given a brand new DX 6 that the owner knew he would never use and pulled the battery and stored the radio. Couldn't locate the battery for it though.
