Default Throttle stick question for ZLRC (The Beast)

I suppose this question really belongs in the quadcopter forum, but there is nobody there at the moment. I purchased a Syma X5c quadcopter at auction and flew it on Wednesday, It is a cheap quad and I was a tad disappointed in the performance. It flew pretty good, but I couldn't get it to hover like I wanted. Another pilot had a ZLRC SG906(the Beast) quad and it hovered rock steady. He showed me all of the features (Point to point, auto takeoff, auto land, a great camera, etc) and I was sold. I went home and ordered the Beast; 3 batteries and case for $214 with tax . I got it yesterday and looked it over. The the throttle stick has a spring in it that centers the throttle. I fly airplanes and all of the throttle sticks on other controllers do not have a spring. The throttle stick stays in the position that your thumb stays in. I have not flown the Beast yet, but am concerned about the throttle. With the throttle stick centering every time I let go of the stick with the Beast in the air, won't it take off like a rocket upward? Just curious.
Thanks

I would think so. Does the manual address the throttle spring?
Does the right stick by chance have a throttle type gimbal? A lot of non-US pilots fly mode 1, which puts the throttle on the right thumb. Lots of radios can be easily switched from 1 to the other.
