Default Piper Cub?

I have a Piper Cub that was given to me. It has a 70 inch wing span. The fuselage is 40 inches from the firewall to the elevator.

What size plane is this? Is it a 1/5 or 1/6 scale or is it a 40 or 60 size. What engine should I put in it? I have fox eagle 60 would this work?

I can't identify who made the kit or plane. How would I set the CG on this?

Any help is apreciated!

Sound like you have a 1/6 or 40 size, the fox 60 will be to heavy and to much power for it. The CG is most likely the main spar or 3 1/2 inche's from leading edge and it sound like you have a SIG plane ! If you have a Pic. would probably help us.

RC,

Here are some pics. I have a OS 40 FP, would this work for power?

I've got a Piper Cub that is almost finished. Just a little covering and I'll be done. I believe it's a 60, and my fuselage doesn't look like the one pictured above. It's the anniversary one... or something like that.

I have a world models 71 inch wingspan cub and it is powered with an OS 40 FP. This engine has plenty of power for this plane. It takes off at half throttle and I usulally fly around at half throttle. It will roll and loop with no problem at this power setting. You will probably have to land it with a little power on. My cub lands very wierd not like any of my other planes. It will slow way down like a trainer but the controls become real mushy. If I keep a couple of clicks of power on it is fine.

I have a 180 cm span Cub although it was an ARF rather than kit. The CofG is 71 cm back from the leading edge if that's any help.

Edit: Better make that 71 mm or 7.1 cm. 71 cm is half way back to the tail and behind the trailing edge of the wing.
