A Thunder Tiger .46 Pro is an inexpensive, high quality, very powerful engine -- it will do the job without any problems.

I have an OS 46FX with an 11x5 prop and a MACS muffler and it will go vertical almost limitless. It's not real fast with this prop but is very aerobatic. It may be worth looking into. What ever engine you choose, you can change the prop to get more torque and less speed if that's what you're looking for.

Saito 72 or Irvine 46. Both great engines in the price range you suggested.

I have a Thunder Tiger Pro .46 on mine with an APC 11x5 prop. It has PLENTY of power and will pull the plane through any manuever.

thunder tiger .46 hmmm sounds like it is small only a .46 do u think it is a reliable engine , right now i have a mds on my superstar and it rarely starts, runs , or stops. the thing i like about the fx is the remote needle adjustment. ok so i narowed it down a four stroke too pricey and not what i need. now lets see either the fx or thunder tigre .46...??

wich one .46 fx or tigre??

one more question so booth of these engines will provide more than enopugh power i do not want to be underpowered???

The Thunder 46 PRO i think is the best option. I had this engine until I crashed it due to wing failure. It has enough power to take vertical into infiniteness with an APC 11x5 prop. The Thunder Tiger 46 pro costs a lot less than the OS 46FX which costs about $115. Definately go with the TT. My .02

I like 4 strokes so for the dollar amount you listed your could buy the Saito .72. Now the new Saito .82 is the same size and 20% stonger thats what I would want.

2 strokes will have less maintainance. No valves to adjust. Less moving parts. So for a beginner a 2 stroke is always preferred. I would say the TT 46 pro would be a great choice. I am currently buying Irvines. Because I like the engines. I also own a bunch of Saito's. Like both. Decide which you want. In your case I would suggest the TT. After gaining some experience. Why not get a 4 stroker then. Good luck.
