Never take more planes than you can afford to crash in one day.

Usually take 2 but sometimes up to 4. I can fit a Tiger 2, H9 Twist and a brushless sailplane all in the back of an older Geo Metro (we call it the half car!!!). But I can fit more in my 3/4 ton Dodge pickup.

Most of the time just two planes. Fly-ins are a different story......

I find that model aviation is like any other sport. You can invest as much money for equipment as you can afford and are comfortable with. Most of the guys I fly with including myself have enclosed trailers for hangers. Like rcjon, the number of planes depends on how many I can get in the trailer and like kingwoodbarney my fleet is always on charge and ready. Currently I have seven planes in the trailer ranging in size from a 59" Ryan to a 108" 1/4 scale Taylorcraft. We find this works out quite well because we have planes ready to go for whatever weather or field conditions we encounter on flying day. Fly'em, clean 'em up, hook the chargers back up, go home plug the trailer into 120 outlet. Doesn't get any better than this. No more handling to put them in the garage or house. All ready for the next call that says, "Let's go flying". Keep your eyes open. I got my 6'x12' Wells Cargo trailer used for $600.00. Had to do a little work. Painted the inside, installed some kitchen counter cabinets from a Lowes display, a carpet remnant, and some schedule 80 PVC wing and fuse racks. As you get into the sport you will find what is comfortable and works for you.

Sometimes I grab an electric, charger and TX and go. Sometimes I pack in 4-5 planes. Sometimes I even take no planes at all, and still spend the whole day flying (being an instructor means burning lots of other guys fuel and not having to clean a plane some days)

ahh the truth comes out why instructors are so helpfull and willing!! j/k

It all depends on my mood. Some days I cram 5 planes in the back of the truck, some days only 1. Some days, I don't even bring a plane, I just stop by the field on the way home and shoot the breeze with other flyers for a while. On average, I find that 2 or three planes is just about ideal, with different flying types represented for variety, ie. Kadet and Spitfire. Plus, it's nice to have a backup on those occasions where some minor thing keeps you from flying the plane you intended.

YUP!!!! LOL!!!

I try to only take 2 planes. I have a back-up if one won't start or has another problem.

But NEVER, EVER fly the second plane after you crash the first one.

Once I put that first plane in the dirt--- it's time to clean up and shoot the bull for the rest of the day.

Learned that lesson the hard way. Went home with a pickup full of smashed balsa and a lot of spare parts for my next project. [X(] Couple of engines and a bunch of stripped servos. And, 2 trashbags full of smashed balsa.

First off let me say I drive a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 4-Door car. This is what I take on the average Sunday.

(1) GP - 1/4 Scale Patty
(1) JET - Katana 1.40
(1) Mini Funtana
(1-2) Custom Foamies
Plus all of the normal stuff, 2 tool boxes, Fuel & so on.
So once I have all of this in my car, If I can get in!
Then I go Flying.

Usually one.

But I live a mile away so it's not a big trip if there's a problem.

I sometimes take two or three if it's an event or I plan on being there long, or helping a student.

I bring as many as I can. Since I'm only 16, and I don't have a car yet I have to have my parents drive me. My mom has a Pontica Gran Prix and I can fit one trainer, Funtana 40, and my Raptor 30 helicopter. I have to put the middle section down and put like the front section of a plane there from the trunk. Then like my trainer on top of that and the the helicopter in the trunk perpendicular to the tail of the Funtana

With my dad Buick Century I can only fit 2. The Futnana and the helicopter. Funtana has to go in the back seat and then the helicopter in the back.

I don't know how I do this. But I can't wait till I get a truck so I can get a trailer and everythiing. I need alot of room. On top of the planes, I have a huge custom build field box that is pretty big.

Every plane I own. Which at the moment is my trainer.

Though soon (hopefully) it will still be every plane I own, which will be my trainer and the SSE I'm building!
