None removable tank...

Hey folks...
what do you guys do with a tank that can't be removed from an airplane. when you are finished for the week. Do you leave the little bit of fuel, if any, in the tank.??
how long will fuel stay 'good'
thanks

There's usually a little bit of fuel left in the tank, even if you run it dry. It doesn't seem to be any problem unless maybe you left it in there for a couple years.
But what does that have to do with the tank being non-removeable? I don't ever recall seeing anybody pull the tank out so they can get that last little bit of fuel out.
It's nothing to worry about really.[8D]

A hand fuel crank will allow you to suck 99% of the fuel out of the tank... (Or electric)
If you are talking what's left after running the tank dry though... Don't worry...

OK... thanks for the info. How long will Fuel last in the jug? Does it go flat. I've heard to keep it sealed at all times as the air causes the most problems due to evaporation!

It's not evaporation that you are concerned about. The alcohol in the the fuel is conducive to sucking water out of the atmosphere and right into the jug. I have heard that leaving a jug uncapped as little as half an hour can ruin a new jug. Keep it sealed and in a cool dark place when you store it and it will last for almost as long as you need it to during the summer. Generally I toss any open jugs I have from the last fall come spring. I've never had any luck with them.

Hi!
I just leave it! I never run my tank dry....Have not done that for the 30 years I have been into this hobby.
Over here in Sweden with the weather being what it is there is no problem leaving fuel in the tank and in a ventilated flight box even for 4-5 month...works great. But in warmer and much more humid climates it might be a problem.
