Default Stick question

Ok - so after talking with my (former) trainer - he thinks I'm ready for my next plane (I still plan to upgrade my engine on my Avistar and continue to fly it as well). I have decided to go with a 60 size stick. My only real decision is which one? Anyone really know the difference between Hangar-9's Super Stick and Ultra Stick or Great Planes Big Stik? Not sure which I want to go with, or what the differences between the three planes are. Anyone have any insights?

Thanks

I don't know the differences between the various Sticks. I do have the Hangar 9 Ultra Stick and find it to be an excellent everyday plane. I have it set up so that I can use ailerons and flaps, or full ailerons. With the half ailerons the airplane is easy to control and will roll adequately on low rates. On high rates with full ailerons the roll rate is insane. Ground handling, takeoffs and landings are all easy.

I'm still a beginner and cannot fairly judge its full capabilities. For example, I cannot hold a knife edge because of its tendency to roll. I do know that it's a solid performer, that will take a fair amount of abuse, all for a reasonable price.

Mine has Saito 80 with an eight channel receiver. There is plenty of vertical performance with this setup.

While I cannot compare the various Sticks I can assure you that the Ultra Stick will be very satisfying.

I had 2 UltraStick 60's. the irst one hit a buzzard.

There great planes. the Super stick is just a cheaper imitation Hanger 9 made and the Big stick has a little bit of dihedral I think and its a Trike. IMO the Ultrasticks or much better. but thats just my opinion. I have an OS .61 FX on mine and its very fast and has great vertical that will go out of sight on full.

I even accidently built a little dihedral into the 2nd one and the plane doesn't even notice. Just remember to try and keept the nose light b/c these planes come on generally nose heavy. I just moved my battery to the back and used an extsension and all was well.

great planes big stick would be a great second plane. It still has some dihedral, and doesn't have those "quad flaps" that the H9 has. Should be easier to set up. It is a trike, but you'll still have lots of fun with it. Also, I'm pretty sure at 149 that its cheaper than the rest (in ARF)--which is also a good quality in a second plane, since you'll more than likely be the cause of it's demise.....

It's also a great plane to learn inverted flying on. Even with dyhedral, this plane just glides upside down no problem. Just don't forget to push instead of pull!!!!

I've had three H9 US 120s. Rvator has a US 60 with a OS 91FS and he's been flying it for over a year. It's his second plane. The US is only a few dollars more that he GP but it's really made well. You don't have to use the quad setup if you don't want to and it'll save you two servos. This thing jumps off the ground in just six or seven feet.

Thanks for the info. I've decided to go with the H9 Ultra Stick with either the OS 91FS or the Saito 100FA. I really want to go 4 cly. with it so I think either of these will be good. Any opinions on which would be better?
