Greetings from Springtown. When you get ready, drop me a line. We have a new club here in Springtown, with a huge grass runway. Nice and secluded. We've been having about 8 to 10 people or so on the weekends. Were going to have a fun fly last Saturday, and had over 40 pre-registered, but it fell through becuase of the weather. It is re-scheduled for June 2nd. Weatherford also has a club, and I can give you information on that club as well. Let me know if you want/need any information about these clubs.

We have those in Oklahoma too!!!!! When I was in the Army I used to drive my First Sergeant crazy when me and a couple buddies would go hunting rattlesnakes when we were in the field. We had a cook that would do a fantastic job cooking them up. I told Top to come around about 9 that night and he would see why we did it. A little butter, a little onion, a rattlesnake, and a grill!!!!!! Oh my!!!! Yumm yumm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said, we had a cook that grew up in the country, so he loved to cook up what we brought him!!!!!! I would take him some venison before we went to the field and he would make up the most awesome jerky out of it!!! He had a killer marinade that was fantastic!!!

Well hello to ya, Spent my first 10 years in Weatherford, 5 or 6 in town,, I think Cottonwood St. next to a dentist office. The rest in Western Lakes, out Tin Top Rd. Shoot I'm old enough I remember when they built the Petro, out on I-20. My Dad used to fly U-control and r/c at the college parking lot. Man old times, almost need a beer to sit and drink to think about these things.

To be totally honest with you I don't have a lot of experience with V-tails. Maybe Bruce or somebody else with more experience will step in here and offer their advice. Sorry.

That's why I was seach'n around, I haven't messed with them much either.
Hope somebody can help him out.
We really need a hobby standard on what is a trainer and what is not.
We lose more newbies to cheap RTF's that are avertised as "Trainer's" or "for beginners" than most people know.
I really hate foreign made, foam planes, without the basic instructions, ie: how to balance @ CG and how to align the tail.
I started picking up a few of the under $50 planes for fun and can't beleive the lack of instructions.
It's really gotten bad and most newbies try these planes first because of advertising and price.
I'm not saying they won't fly, just they aren't for someone new to the hobby.

What they should do is make a cheap 71" wingspan, an .049 engine with only tail and elevator controls.

Might not look pretty but the chances are they'd stay in the air long enough to learn something.

If I remember right I started with a Goldberg Eaglet 50 with a O.S. Magnum .25 and a Futaba Attack 4 channel back in 1983-84.
Cost me maybe $180 total and that included extra plugs, a NiCd Glo-starter, and a gallon of 15% fuel.
I burned up the gallon before getting to close to a power transformer and losing signal. Still have the Attack and .25.
