Default Our tools dangerous? Bah!

Yepp.

I've been cutting parts to my first scratch build ever. Ive used several different knives, razorblade and a small electric saw (dunno what it is in english). Never managed to cut myself. And notice, that I'm very new with this kind of job. People talk that our tools are dangerous thou...

App 2 hrs ago i felt myself hungry right after i got all fuselage parts cut. Went to kitchen congratting myself job well done. No difficulties whatsoever with job.

Took a bread and one of those huge, saw-bladed bread cutting knives (Tupperware, curses on you ), slipped it somehow thru the bread and cut 1" long, bone deep cut to my thumb, palm side. Talk about bleeding. I messed up half of the kitchen.

Never let your guard down:stupid:

Now i glue pieces together with the mother of all bandages around my thumb and when SHE comes home from work, she's never goin to belive how i did this.

I can see it now

you: but... but ...but ...honest... it was the bread knife
her: uh-huh sure
you: you dont believe me?
her: nope... but I do believe that you got blood all over my kitchen and not one drop in "your shop"
you: I'm gonna be sleeping on the couch tonight huh?
her: yep.

The tool is only as safe as the guy using it.

Default I hate razorsaws

The tool I hate the most is a razorsaw. Those things cut through fingertips like a knife through butter.

my right hand middle finger still has fabric tape on it from last night, i was doing a repair on a wing and i forgot my knife was under the wing, i slid my hand across the leading edge of the wing and i felt my new surgical blade grind along the bone,i cut it my middle finger down to the bone leaving a nice flap of skin and the finger next to it has a small slice taken off the top just enough to bleed but not much. i put superglue in the deep cut and put medical tape over it, i think it should be okay. i cant bear to think of that knife against bone grind though!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a tip. If you have a cut that doesn't need medical attention (or, like myself, you just wont get medical attention). Use some fiberglass cloth around the finger like a band aide and hit it with CA (making sure the wound is closed). It last for days and allows the wound to heal without the skin opening up. It works even better for finger tips/finger nail cuts.

I don't consider a model ready until I've 'blessed' it with my own blood. My lineage must herald back to some ancient Druid model builder, I guess...

I talked to some guys that Climbed El Capitan (Yosemite), and they took Superglue for gluing their fingers back together, and Asprin and Poptarts for nutrition. Thats all.
