That's a truly loaded question!

Behavioral health professionals among us will recognize it as a rather obsessive compulsive behavior. It is a syndrome that may subside from time to time depending on the specific financial health of the subject or some other external forces tightening the screws [Spouses and the like]. For example in the Nikon forums it is called NAS, Nikon Acquisition Syndrome. Many photographers, who appear to be sane on the surface, are afflicted by it . So, obviously it is not limited to any one type of hobby. People are masters at rationalizing their impulse acquisitions and all those rebates and other offers from online RC merchants are not helpful in keeping things in check. I have not heard yet from programs being offered in community centers to reign in the urge to splurge on RC products, so you are on your own...

And yes, I am doing better already!

I gave away 9 in the last year just to make room for my new 30% gassers. You think YOU have a problem.[X(][X(][X(][X(]

Acquiring new equipment and planes is like getting old.The older you get the older you want to get.Last year I decided to get back into the habit after an absence of 15 years. I told myself that it was for the grandchildern and bought a RTF electric for them to learn on. I now have sevenplanes of which 3 are electric and the grand kids, girls ages five and seven do not seem to be interested.

I've been in it for 2 months, and I'm currently building my 3rd plane. All are flyable.

You are not alone.

14 years ago I moved from NY to Minnesota...

I took only my favorite planes cause I just didn't have room for all of them

I don't remember how many I brought, but I left 29 behind

No problem, I've easily caught up since then

Fourth???? Is that all???

But try this... Try to buy them when they're on sale. That way you can tell your wife. "Honey.. it was on sale. I saved a bunch!"

I do what my wife does when she sees a sale sign. She belives that is a mandate to buy. So it works for me.

Yep. The LHS I go to puts two prices on everything. The suggested retail, and what it actually costs. Everything I bring home that's over $20 is "on sale". [8D]

A couple of Christmas's ago, I got into an arguement with the wife about gift giving. True story by the way. She was mad because I suggested she just concentrate on our only son then. She threw a huge fit and cried and cried after I told her I didn't have an intention of getting her a gift. Anyway, long story short, we're really lucky because every year she gets a nice Christmas bonus check, to the tune of a few thousand dollars. To make me feel better after that arguement I logged into my computer and bought three planes in one sitting with two engines, already had the third. So, I agree, we all must have some sort of mental issues and addictions.

She loves me now. All is good.

4 planes is not bad. You'll be fine.

Yeah, my wife doesn't mind me buying planes either because it keeps me off my dirt bike.
