He means that he lives and flies at 6500', kind of like up on the side of a mountain.. I agree, flying at 6500' above myself would be worthless with my vision. They don't have glasses to correct for that!..

I first want to thank everyone who's posted on this blog; you are all so helpful to us newcomers!
I am looking for my first plane, and understand I should get a cheap RTF or ARF. I really want something that has ailerons, hopefully with the option to use them or not. I also would really like something that would allow me to use the radio or the servos or something in my next plane. Suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Dirtjumpdaniel....If you want to know what will fly at the altitude, take a trip over the hill to Heber. If the weather is good, they will be flying at their model airport. Its through town on hwy 40 like your headed to strawberry. Its on the left side of the road. The guys who fly there are there most weekends that weather permits. Its only about 1 to 2 miles out of town. I drive past their just about every day and see someone there quite often. Weekends are usually your best bet.

I am suprised that no one has mentioned the hobbyzone champ.
It is alittle high wingplane that's perfect for the beginner. It's stable, durable and can handle a light wind.
Take a look at it here.
