I'm planning on buying one of the Ultra Stick Mini PNP sets to just have something to tool around with in the local park when not flying at the field and I am wondering which battery is recommended for this plane??
I have not messed much with electric's other than a few foamy's. I have the following charger already and am looking for a battery that would also be able to be charged by this charger successfully.

Thanks!!

Very economical, and will work great with the MUS.

I Second the 3s 2100 the plane will balance well and get long flights with that battery. also the park 450 will have plenty of power with that battery and a 10/8 prop.
I have used this same set up in the mini pulse with good results also.
The MUS is my favorite elect. flier. it will do all kinds of crazy aerobatics when you want and it will fly gentle as a kitten and land at a walk when you want.

I went with these two batteries. Good choices??
Great Planes ElectriFly LiPo 11.1V 2100mAh 20C Power
Great Planes ElectriFly LiPo 11.1V 1500mAh 20C Power
Will this charger handle these okay??

Be aware that the two different batteries are not going to weight the same will make the plane balance differently and you will need to check CofG for both and adjust accordingly.
I would suggest you get batteries that will be of similar weight unless you are getting some sort of super deal on them.
That charger will work but its charge rate will be slow for those batteries. look for something that can handle 2A or more charge rate for faster charge times.
more than 2A will be good if you move to larger planes and larger battery packs but 2A will be good for the 3S 2100 that have been recomended.
I would suggest you do a search on Lipo batteries and learn about how to safely charge them and care for them. If improperly used they can be dangerous.

Thanks for the heads up on the batteries. I didn't even think about the balancing. Moving the battery forward or backward I would think would do it though, right?
Shouldn't weigh much difference.....
I am not sure what you mean by the "charge rate". Do you mean the "250mA, 500mA or 1,000mA rates."?? I am more into Nitro fuel planes and was just wanting something to play around with in a parking lot and have always enjoyed flying my Ultra Stick 60 and thought the MUS would be fun. How long would it take to charge 2100mah battery with the 1000mA rate??
I am not wanting to spend a lot money on a fancy Lipo charger that I won't ever use for much else. Do you know of a good inexpensive charger??

If that charger is what suits your pocket book then I wouldn't worry about the charge rate. as to how long it will take to charge your batteries I would only be taking a guess. it usually takes my chargers close to an hour to recharge my 3S 2100 batteries at 2A
as to the weight difference you will have to try it to see, you have some where around 1 1/2 oz difference, enough to make it balance and trim different.
I would suggest you make a mark inside of the battery compartment for each battery for its proper location to get the same C of G and be careful not to put in a battery lined up to the wrong mark.
I am no expert but I wanted to point out the weight issue existed and may present a problem if not addressed.
hope I have helped

The maiden flight was AWESOME!! It has been very windy (20+ mph gusts) this week but tonight the wind completely died and the plan was a true joy to fly. It took off within 10 feet at full throttle and I could of climbed out of sight if I wanted to!!
I am new to flying these electrics and one thing I am concerned about is battery conservation management. I tried to pull it back to about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle most of the time but still it seemed I got less than 10 minutes flight out of the 1500mah battery (Great Planes ElectriFly LiPo 11.1V 1500mAh 20C Power). Would a better charger extend the flight time for the battery or is it all due to my poor throttle management. I am used to flying glow planes and always have the power I need to fly anywhere between 1/2 to full throttle and having the power right there when I need it.
If I got this charger: http://www.allerc.com/product_info.php?products_id=158
and then a balancer like this: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXMGS7&P=ML
and soldered on deans plugs to connect the balancer and charger together would it improve battery life and flight time??
Please provide some details so I understand why it would or would not.
Thanks!!
P.S. I am using the setup that came with the PNP:

I would buy a cellpro 4 charger www.fmadirect.com has the best price and service, and for batteries i use MAXAMPS.COM polyquest 2100 3s MAH lipo. I'm not sure about tanic batteries lipos, i have had bad luck with Tanic NIMH Batteries.
