I'll guess either a B-17 or a B-24 because ,if you look at the picture closely. You can see the rear of the second outboard engine nacell to the left of the engine on the wing. Thus the picture is of the inboard right wing engine of a 4 engined plane.
Good luck with the guesses all

B-17 based on the 3-blade prop, the way the wing tapers and it’s a tail dragger – look at the angle the wing is sitting at. Those covers with the remove before flight flags should be covering oil cooler inlets. The B-24 has a more oval shaped nacelle with the oil coolers inlets on the side of the cowl, and it’s so high off the ground one would have to be on a platform to get the angle Gary got.

IF you look at the man with the hat on,you'll see he is looking down,so i'm pretty sure they are standing on a plat form of some kind.

I thought maybe a DC4 because of the low height , but now that I look at it again and compare it to the hanger doors in the back ground , it looks taller than I first thought .

My Feedback: (1)

Yep! We have one here locally, however it doesn't fly. The B-17 is an easy one to pick out without a full picture.

It's a T-33. Here's the museum web page. http://www.strategicairandspace.com/collections.htm
