Tell your friend to keep off the runway
Are you wondering if you should ask him to buy you a new plane?
Is the plane repairable? what kind of plane is it?
What can we help you do

HOW did he step on it?
Was he helping you out? Or was he fooling around and stepped on it.
If the former, you can't expect him to pay for it... but if the latter, you may want to show him how much a replacement ARF costs...

If you do fly with him again, make sure to keep him away from THE FRONT of the airplane.
There is something up there that will do more than STEP ON HIM.

If he stepped on the plane to avoid the plane crashing into him while standing on a safe place, I guess the tab is on you.

We were flying the plane then it landed and was all fine. i asked him if he would push the plane back to the truck so he did but he steped on my antenna that was out of the back of the plane and was taking his next step and steped on the rear tale.

I don't think your buddy owes you anything, you asked him to help, he was trying, and "stuff" happens.
Since it was obviously not intentional and not caused by being stupid (well, not maliciously stupid) just write it off and invite him over to watch you fix it.
Of course giving him grief the whole time you are repairing it is completely acceptable

I agree he doesn't owe you anything. He should have been educated on how to pick the aircraft up and carry it. This one is just a "sorry man I didn't mean it" situation. It may take some effort but anything can be fixed with some balsa and covering. Sorry but I too did have a chuckle on the thought of the accident. Would be a good one for You Tube.

Was your friend sober at the time of the mishap?

obviously your mistake, give him the plane and apologize. Leaving you antenna dangling out the tail really your lucky he did not fall and sue you for having an unsafe RC aircraft. Clean up your act, reroute the antenna.
Good thing he did not step on the front tale! That would have caused even more damage.
