Default saito 180 question

I have a saito 180 fs and I would like to know what size 2 stroke engine this 180fs would replace or be comparable to. the reason I ask is I am building a 98 inch wing span curtiss robin that will weigh in at about 19 lbs or so. the plans call for a 90 to 120 2 stroke. will this 180fs be to much for this plane? thanks for any help.

Default RE: saito 180 question

I have a Saito 1.80 and a OS 1.20AX, they both like the APC 17x6 prop. The OS will turn it about 800 RPM faster. Someone may tell me I am wrong, but this sounds like they are close to the same power to me.

Default RE: saito 180 question

This saito 180 does not have 1.80 on it. stamped on the engine it says 180 no 1.80 it also says that on the box. is there a differance? I have used mostly gas engines in my plans and I dont know how they rate glow fuel engines as to power compared to gas engines so any help you can give will really help. thank you.
