I need some help with programming transmitter
I am trying to do some adjustments on the throttle. My servo reaches to its max while the throttle stick is half way. So its like when I move the stick to half throttle my engine is already going full throttle. I just can not make smooth throttle control. What I would like is move the servo less. So When I do half throttle my engine will be half throttle. When I do full throttle engine will be full throttle. I couldnt make any adjustments mechanically. Transmitter is Futaba 9cap with spektrum DM8 2.4 Any ideas how to do this?

have you set your linkage up manually? if not try reading this, really helped me

use a smaller serve arm, or decrea you throws with the end point adjustments

RE: I need some help with programming transmitter
As the other post pointed out. get the mechanical as close as you can, then end points for full shutoff and WOT. Now after the engine is running, set the expo for a linearengineresponse to the stick stck movement. Make sure your engine kill works and when it is off, full idle doesn't kill the engine. With the 9C, you will only need a couple clicks of tirm on the trottle for idle speed. Tune the engine first and then make the final tweaks wiht the programing.

RE: I need some help with programming transmitter
I got it pretty close. Moved the connections to inner sides of the servo arm and throttle barrel that helped a lot. I havent tested yet to see if engine will idle right or shut off using trim or engine kill switch. I will set up the end point adjustment on transmitter and It should be good to go.

Yeah, throttle end points are the last thing to adjust after you get the linkage right. That also goes for the rest of the linkage too..elevator, rudder, and ailerons. Once set up as good as can be mechanically, then, as suggested, tweak it with end point adjustments.

RE: I need some help with programming transmitter
Here's my method for setting up a throttle linkage.
1. With the linkage disconnected from the carb turn your radio on 2. Move your throttle stick to the middle position. Check that your servo arm is now approx. perpendicular to your linkage 3. Manually set your carb to mid throttle 4. Attach linkage to the carb making sure the carb stays at mid throttle, you may have to shorten or lengthen your linkage to achieve this. Now your stick should be at half throttle and so should your carb 5. Set your end points now and you should be good to go or pretty darn close! |
