That's strange. The Super Tigre web site lists the GS-40 as having 1/4 - 28 shaft.

RE: prop reamer
jolly popper
i dont know if the engine being manufactured in italy has anyting to do with it or not ? tried atleast 3 different props still the same out come just a hair to small. |
RE: prop reamer
Harbor Freight as well as most automotive stores sells digital calipers for not very much money. They read in both inch and metric units. Once you have one, you will wonder how you ever got along with it.
The Super Tigre has a 7mm prop shaft with a 1/4-28 prop nut. You will need a metric reamer. Don |
RE: prop reamer
I just keep both SAE and metric reamers on hand. I could use a good caliper in my shop though, Next road trip I will have to take a look, Thands Don.

RE: prop reamer
I use a tapered reamer for them, run in from the back. It works for anything and the tapering doesn't hurt anything.

RE: prop reamer
I always have SAE & metric stepped prop reamers in my field bag. Never fails someone needs to barrow a prop or try another prop and it wont fit. Start from the back side or engine side and hold the reamer stationary while turning the prop for the straightest hole.
