Terminology
 

Being newto model aircraft I'm never sure what to use to properly identify thevariouscontrol surfaces used in them to control the planes attitude. I would like to use the names all of you use commonly when you refer to these. Such as rudder, flaps, elevator,horizontal satbilizer, verical stabilizer, elevators, tail, elevons etc. Can one of you please help me with a definition of parts and what they do so I properly identify these in future referances.

I basically know these but not what's commonly applied to these various parts by all of you. A simple list is greatly appreciated.

MinnFlyer, The video looks exacly like what I want, unfortunately I installed a new graphics card last week that took my sound away and I can't reach the maker to find a fix, darn it. I'll try to keep this so eventually I can hear what you provided. Thanks !

Some models try to combine flap and aileron in one control surface named flaperon.

For tail-less models, the elevator and aileron are combined in one surface, which is then called elevon.

Do you mean trailing or forward edge (of the wing or vertical stabilizer) ?

G'day down under. Yes, I have now extended the reach way down to all you guys down under and I'm loving it.   Locally I was contacted by a local flyer with a strip I'm invided to use to learn to crash and fly my new bird. as yet  still not tried as weather still keeps us grounded up here. He tried once last weekend during a break in the rain, took off and bent his landing gear when landing as his plane dug into the mud under the grass. Guess we must wait some more as it's still raining. 

I have yet to fly my ARF electric trainer thats been checked out by my new flying friends so it's ready to put into the air. While waiting I spend the hours in my simulator till my eyes get scratchy and red. I'm love it...
