Giant Big Stik Engine
I want to build me a Big Stik this year to fly. I'm looking at engines and trying to decide on the DLE-30 or the O. S. 160FX. But after looking at he requirement it calls for (25-35cc) gasoline engine. But the DLE-30 only has 30.5cc and the O. S. 160FX only has 26.23cc. What other engine can I put in this plane?

In [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=566]this review[/link] I used a Fuji 32BT which the plane is made for and it was an excellent combo.
I love the engine too. It starts as easily as a glow engine and has plenty of power for this Stik |
RE: Giant Big Stik Engine
Question for you one the Fuji 32BT, can I do a vertical climb without any hesitation?

RE: Giant Big Stik Engine
Mike, I've got a SPE 40cc laying around. I think it's about a pound lighter than the Fuji 32, so that would reduce the tailweight needed. How much weight did you end up with to get 7" back on the balance point?

RE: Giant Big Stik Engine
MrCoolPop. If you look at the video in that review you'll see that the Fuji gave excellent vertical performance.
Teachu2, I moved the battery to the rear of the radio compartment and added 1/2oz of lead to the tail to balance with the Fuji |
RE: Giant Big Stik Engine
Thanks, Mike - the SPE should be golden!

RE: Giant Big Stik Engine
I have the Zenoah G38 on a Giant Big Stik, and a Saito 300 twin on another. Moki 1.80 works too. I've got that engine on a H9 Ultra Stick Lite 120.

RE: Giant Big Stik Engine
an os 1.60 will certainly fly the giant stik, the DLE30 has more power, than most of the engines mentioned in this thread, dont underestimate its size

RE: Giant Big Stik Engine
I decided to go with the DLE 30. I just purchase it today. Can't wait to fly it...

RE: Giant Big Stik Engine
Good choice. your going to love it. I have a 120 size stick with a G-26ei and a tuned pipe, tons of fun. :D

RE: Giant Big Stik Engine
With the DLE 30 engine how much flying time can I get. I have a 60 Stik and I get about min. I just hope I can get a little more than that.
