Need plans for plane storage rack

does anyone know of any good plans for a wall mounted airplane storage rack?

Ibuilt mine out of 1" PVCfrom Lowes'/Home Depot. Get a bunch of elbow and tee fittings, and some PVC glue. Let your mind run wild! Then I hang it from the wall using hangars/hooks that screw into the studs in the wall.

Great, do you have any problems with sagging?
Thanks

I use two of the slotted shelf bars, plus the shelf supports. You can get them at Lowes, Mendards, or Home Depot. They are easy to install and adjusable. I use foam rubber pipe insulation to cover the shelf supports so they don't damage the planes. Total cost was less that $20.00.

I use 3 styles, no plans just freehand them, depending on size, weight & wings staying attached. All the stuff is 3/4" from Home Depot & the cost is about $2 per plane. On the racks in the dormers I hang 4 planes per rack & there is no problem with the weight.

BTW: The empty rack in front of the B-25 holds a e-powered 1/4 scale Piper PA-12. I back that one up with some small bungee cords.

Nope, but I use the thicker wall (higher psi rated) 1" PVC. It only costs a few cents more per stick but it is much stiffer.

Where can I find the insulation?
I use regular 18 inches rack supporting metal and I think they may scratch the monokote.

Thanks,

Harry,
you can find the pipe insulation at any hardware store in the pipe fittng area. I buy mine from either Lowes or Menards. They are usually 2 0r 3 bucks at the most.

I just made one today after viewing this thread.

Used about 7 24"peices of 1" pvc. 4 Tsections, 4 caps and 4 elbows. Glue... That's about it.

I drilled out 4 holes in the pipe and used drywall screws. I would recommend putting some kind of spacer if you are installing it indoors. Otherwise I would have used hooks if it was in a garage.
