Well, you are 50 50 for an answer now. I have used them and will not do so again. Very slow shipping at a very high price. Zero customer service. If you have a problem, you get to pay the high shipping three times. They won't pay to have a defective or wrong part shipped back, in fact, they state that they may charge you a restock fee. There are other like stores out there with the same products at vey near the same price that have good customer service and ship quickly at a reasonable price. My order from HKtook close to four weeks while my order from HiModelRC took four days and at a less expensive rate. H K, never again.

I have tried it and will not do it again. Waiting a month for junk is not worth it and if you pay all fees, as you should, you don't even get it cheap.

Sorry you guys had bad experiences.. mine has been the opposite.. do you pay for EMS shipping? it only takes 3 days..

I have placed over 70 different orders with Hobbyking over the past 12 monthsand it has ALL been fantastic..

I have literally ordered hundreds of items and the value for money is great...

Here are my helis.. the kits and most of the electrics and all the batteries are from Hobbyking.. http://74.50.85.67/RC/Helis/Helis.html

My experience has been better than exceptional.. and you won't find better value..

EG a set of carbon blades for my helis will cost arund $40 in a store... HK has the same thing for $8

Here is my Hobbyking Spitire - it only cost me $69 and is the best value for moneyplane I have ever had in over 33 years of RC flying.. I have hundreds of flights on it..

Hobbyking is GREAT..

You only wait a month if you opt for budget shipping..

I use EMS and things arrive in 3 days..

I put in an order last monday and it arrived yesterday morning (Thursday) Even with the more expensive shipping the overall cost is 30% of what I'd pay in a local hobbyshop..

This Helicopter kit cost me $10... 4 Servos cost $30... Gyro $12. ESC $25.. Battery $12

All up this heli cost me under $100 and it flies like a dream.. over 500 flights on it now and it just keeps going...

Not junk at all.. great value!

The only part not from Hobbyking is the canopy in this video.,.. (I already had it.)

87 individual shipments from them over the last two + years. I have had 1 DOA 4S5000 Lipo & 1 DOA 7.5amp UBEC. Trash canned both units.

Have saved a bunch of money & have no regrets. Shipping is not timely (sucks) around Chinese New Year when Hong Kong pretty much shuts down, but the rest of the year its pretty quick. Additionally the USA warehouse is offering more stuff & ships as fast as anyone else in the states.

I have purchased many items from HK and have never had a problem. Maybe I am one of the luck ones. I buy many items for our club and have always been satisified with the product received.

I bought 8 3cell lipo packs, 6 were bad. The cost of return shipping just to much to deal with.

That is incredibly bad luck.. I have bought over 50 x 3 cell lipos varying from 1300 Mah, up to 2200Mah.. and all of them were perfect (and still are after hundreds of cycles)

What brand Lipo had you ordered.?

I have also used EMS shipping and it was nowhere near 3 days and then it will sit in the customs after that. The fees for handling the import tax is around $20 alone.
Good to hear that some are happy at least.

Wow, that does get expensive.. I guess it depends where you are in the world.. I have tracked my orders and Australian customs never holds the item up.. I've seen the item arrive at customs at 7am, out by 7.15am.. around 10am it gets delivered to my door..

I have tried the cheaper shipping and it can take up to a month.. but EMS has always been 3 days for me.. with a maximum of 5 days if my order is made on Thursday or Friday (No delivery on weekends in Aus)

I have been very satisfied. Just received one of their cheap servos [for testing] about$6.00 and an ESC including frt it was $17.00. The ESC from US sources was $30.00 bucks plus. I have had several orders held due to backorders but knew that when ordered. FOR THE MONEY, i'll wait a few days.

I have had nothing but good luck with them, even ordered three of the spektrum complaint Rx's and they are great!! I mean Three 7 channel Spektrum Complaint Rx's for 36.00!! Great for Park flyers!! I also ordered the Rx statilite extensions, 2 for 30.00 and that includes shipping. They also opened a US warehaouse with plans to open more. I'm not saying that I won't but stuff from the LHS, but with fuel prices and such these days, I'm willing to take the chance with Hobby King, The only things I have really had to wait on are things that are on back order. I always get emails telling me when the item is expected to ship and then again when it ships. And with the rain and the wind we're getting these days in my area, it will be Friggin July before we get a good flying day anyway!!! So I can wait!! :D

Boy are you lucky, it's looking like August before we can fly again. I get it shipped quicker from HK then I do some of the stateside suppliers. BTW, Bill, I think you need a few more planes in your hangar.;);););)

One of club members put the HK orange RX in a glider with no satelite and took is up almost out of sight and still had full control.

I've had nothing but positive experiences with them. Shipping is a little slow. If you need it now buy at your LHS. If you are buying spares or extras or can wait a week or two you can not beat HK. I can buy 10x the amount from them that I could the LHS. THe US warehouse is super fast. I order 2x 3s 2200mah LiPOs on a monday and had them on thursday. I avoid items on backorder cause you never know how long it will hold up your entire order. I would not hesitate to use them anytime.

I've been very happy with my experience. In fact, I just placed a new order on Monday. I usually receive my orders within 2 1/2 to 3 weeks and thats using economy shipping. I haven't had any experience with their customer service, but I know several other people from my club buy from hobby king as well.

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 9pt">Ihave used them with good success. Never an issue. As for shipping, it is what it is and Hobby King does not control the rates just the way Tower does not control UPSor USPSrates to ship. If you pay for cheaper shipping, this is as good or worse than paying for parcel post or media mail here. For the money you save on the product it is better to pony up a few more dollars to ship faster especially if you are going to be waiting for your parts. As for what they sell, I'd trust any part, battery etc as long as it is not a servo for aileron or other crucial function. Never had anything burn up but I also do not want to take a chance with any of my planes.

I will tell you that if you are buying something that is stocked in their US warehouse that it gets to its destination in a few days.</span></div>

Gorrish!! How have you been? Yeah, I do need more planes! What I really need is time to fly them! :D I've been trying without alot of luck to get the ST italian 90 to run on my twist 60. Not having any luck with it. May get the JBA 15 cc gasser and put in it. I need to build an engine test stand so I can work on it easier, can't seem to get it to run right, mid range is bad, transition is bad, full throttle is great. When I set the high end, to where I think it should be, the it stalls on the pinch test, when I set the high end where it passes the pinch test, it will start to gurggle. and loose RPM's. Gotta an air leak somewhere I think. replaced the Oring at the base of the carb, no difference. Well, I'll either figure it out or get a new engine or sell just sell the plane!! :D

I have ordered a few things from HK and the last item (set of air retracts) I am still waiting for. HK has great prices and provide you good info on your order status. Of course I chose the least expensive shipping method and with that you get what you get. The tracking for the last item indicated the package arrived and departed from Jamaica, NY US postal Office. That was on 4/13/11 it is now 4/22/11 and I have not received it. My assumption is; not to blame HK for the time it takes to ship since it's been here in the US for over 1 week and not been delivered. HK tells you when your order is placed, when it leaves there facility and the tracking system telss you where it is whenever the Postal Service updates the system which is not to frequently once it arrives here. So I can't blame HK for delay in receiving my item, and I don't think the Postal Service would listen to my complaint of taking 8 days and counting to reach AZ from NY. The items I bought in the past all seemed to be exactly what was described and what the reviews indicated about the performance or quality. I think they (HK) do a pretty good job overall based upon my limited experience using them.

I have had MANY orders from HK. Junk? I don't think so. I use servos bought from HK in 116 inch wingspan Davis with a quadra 35 gas. Flying it with an HK module in a Turnigy 9x radio, 2.4 under $90.00 and going into it's third season with not so much as a glitch. I have NOT had a defective lipo from them. Shipping defective stuff back is not a problem either and cheaper than you think and I have had items replaced or credits to my account. I had a defective charger and motor I sent back with two separate RMA's and put them in the same box for $12.00. USPS priority mail box. It is easier to whine than do the work then they think it is ok to whine in forums like this. When they did not even attempt to return items.

UPS three day. I have ordered on thursday and had the order on Monday. Tower won't get me a order that quick and I am only 500 miles away and still saved over a $100. vs tower prices on the same basic items. Sure if you use the cheapest shipping it will take time but if you are ordering spares or stuff not needed right away. I use the cheapest registered then at least I have some tracking info and it gets here when it gets here.

I am glad alot of you quit ordering from them it makes it more likely when i need something it will be in stock!:D

Customer service is what you make of it and your attitude. If you conform to the rules it works well. Sure it may take some time but it does work.

In this day of the "I want NOW!" crowd patience and decency are gone.
