Practicing with an Extra on RealFlight
Hi to all,
I am planning to put together a Phoenix Models Extra 330s with a FS91SII in a couple of days. Though I love to harrier, hover etc, I know that this is not a 3D airplane with this engine. I plan to practice with it to "learn" the airplane till the monsoon sets in from beginning of june, then restart with it in October and finally put in a 95 or 120 when I am comfortable (or bored) with it. So till then it will be my Sunday flier So couple of questions: 1) Does this airplane have any bad tendancies that I need to look out for? Since the excess power in the 91 4C is limited, it will be difficult to get out if the airplane tipstalls or something 2) I dont know of an Extra of similar size on Realflight to help me limber up or practice at home. Which airplane should I use to practice on the sim? I have all the expansion packs (1 to 7) Ameyam |

Ameyam: You can do what you want, but I would suggest posting this sort of thing in the 3D forum, after all, this is a beginners forum.

I practice 3D with the AJ Slick 51". I think it's on the expansion pack 5 or 6. You could also go to knifeedge.com and download practically any airplane in existence.
Remember that it's excessively easy to 3D on a simulator. I can hover, torque roll, and harrier inverted and up right all day long on the Sim. I can even get a rolling harrier down. But I can't even come close to do that in real life. So it's really just good muscle memory practice for your thumbs/fingers. |

actually, I posted here and then realised my mistake. I have posted in the ARF forum in the dedicated Phoenix Extra 330s thread but then the disadvantage is that forum is a bit slow and posting is a dedicated thread makes the quantum of repliers a bit limited. Also, I think quite a few beginners may be thinking the same way. Anyway, I realise my mistake. DenverJayhawk muscle memory- thats the work I was searching for when I was posting. Thanks for your advice. Isint the AJ Slick electric. I noted those dont have the same inertia as glow / gas airplanes Ameyam |

Either way, if you get an answer then so much the better. I just thought it might get a better response there.
