First FPV
I just finished my first fpv plane and am about to go fly it. Do you have any recommendations on the best way to successfully complete the first fpv flight? I have already checked ranges and done multiple full plane checks. Thanks!

RE: First FPV
I have never done FPV fliying, but I hear you should always have a spotter on site with you...

ORIGINAL: pipercub4 I just finished my first fpv plane and am about to go fly it. Do you have any recommendations on the best way to successfully complete the first fpv flight? I just IM you a link to a FPV forum. The FPV Forum over there is VERY active. Last night at 1 am there were 117 people on that forum in the FPV section! What vRx and vTx set-up do you have? Oh ya, the "beginners" moderator hates FPV, so when he deletes the videos, just IM me. I will send you a link to them on YouTube. |

Way to scare him off, guys...<div>
</div><div>When flying FPV, ensure that you have a spotter. It may not seem necessary, but it is easier than it looks to fly out of sight or range before you realise it. Take the first couple flights slowly. It is very easy to become disoriented doing aerobatics if you do not have a full 360 degree view around you. You may also find that you are flying too high or too low compared to a normal RC pattern as the techniques used to judge altitude are completely different. You may find it easier if you sit down while flying instead of standing to prevent dizziness or disorientation. </div><div> </div><div>Either way, ensure you have a spotter and a well trimmed model (you will need to fly it non-FPV a few times first to learn how it flies and to pick out any problems before you commit to an FPV flight) </div><div> </div><div>Happy flying! </div> |
RE: First FPV
The Beginners Moderator does not hate FPV's. And, I won't just delete posts or anything else that applies to the forum. If it applies, and is appropriate, it stays. I usually will move inappropriate posts to wherever they belong.
Please get your facts straight before posting such baloney. CGr. |
