Hi,

I had a small mishap with my Avistar and I had to fix a couple of holes in the wing and the tail section. It's all fixed now but the problem is that the wing is made out of 2 sections that are held together with a 2 metal pieces and 4 screws (It's the RTF kit with the remote and engine). Those screws keep falling off. I tried to re-locate them but they just get pulled off out of the wood.

The obviuos solutin is to glue both parts of the wing together but I was think maybe someone will have a more creative idea.

Zoti, I have the same trainer that you do and I love it. My advice is: EPOXY THE WING TOGETHER!!

I've had a bunch of these and fly a few everytime out with students...

My advice is to use a bunch of epoxy on those two center ribs where the wing halfs come together. Glue it and push them together as tight as you can. Use the straps also...If you want something stronger, you can use some fiberglass cloth on the bottom to hold it together...You don't really need it though.

If you glue it together do the aileron servo tray also, I hear they have come loose before. something about only being mounted on one side.

Have you tried to wet the screw holes with thin CA to harden them up, sometimes that helps. or push small peices of hard balsa stringer wood into the holes and apply thin CA and re-install the screws.

I've glued the 2 wing halfs together with some epoxy. I have also used the original straps and screws and put some super glue into the screws holes to keep them tight.

We'll see how it lasts.

Zoti, if you`ve done that I wouldn`t think you should have a thing to worry about.
