RE: JR Crystal Question

That's a standard JR crystal for 72 mhz receivers. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work.<div>

RE: JR Crystal Question

The advertizing doesn't say if it is a single or dual conversion crystal ( it makes a huge difference! ), but the grey packaging is normally used by the Dual Conversion crystals, while the single conversion crystals have no gray packaging/holder.

RE: JR Crystal Question

Actually, JR dual conversion crystals are in a red package. JR single conversion are in grey. And most JR FM receivers are single conversion with the ABC&W thingie which filters out noise. There are only a couple of JR dual conversion receivers out there, and the one in the picture isn't one.

So yes, it looks like the correct crystal.

(btw, this is why a "normal" JR crystal doesn't work in Futaba or Hitec gear, but I've seen plenty of guys interchange Hitec and Futaba crystals. Not a good idea, but it works most of the time since those are both straight forward dual conversion setups)

RE: JR Crystal Question

You're right... I had forgotten about the JR's being single conversion on all but some of the higher channel count RX's.

I still have a few JR 72mHz RX's with the Red Packaged crystals.

RE: JR Crystal Question

iim glad i ordered the right one :) i dont have a problem still using 72 mhz stuff, i fly all my glow planes on 72 and havent had any problems in the past or present. They can be had pretty cheap.. i remember when i used to pay 129 for the 9ch 649 pcmS receivers.... now they can be had for peanuts
