Well, the Cobra plans arrived UPS today; and they look terrific! Looks like I'll have to finish up my present project, clean off the bench and start making plans for the winter project: the Cobra! While waiting for the plans to arrive I had entertained some thoughts of enlarging the plans by a factor of 1.2 to arrive at a wingspan of 90" and use one of my larger twin cylinder engines, but then the back brace I've been wearing for the past two months reminded me of my age and the problems with larger planes.

The Cobra's 75" wingspan and overall size look just about perfect right now, so I'm gonna stick to the plans with just a few minor changes. I'm also considering a slightly different color scheme to the finish this time around. The two different colors of green on white looked great, but I think something a little more radical this time around is in order.

It really would be a lot of fun to have several Cobra "builds" going on this winter with some updates and pictures from everybody....so I hope y'all are still interested in this project.

The price reduction has been going on for the better part of a year. They never said when it was going to end. There were some good deals to be had. Wish I would have ordered more of them.

My understanding was it was only for a week. I had ordered a set about 1 month ago and they were 34.00 yankee green backs, when they went on sale I ordered the 2nd set.

I got my plans in yesterday!!! gonna probably build 2 since a friend wants one also!!!! were gonna ponder over the plans with a couple of pots of coffee this week end!!!

That is also going to be my winter build. ordering the wood today I think from Lone Star Balsa unless someone knows of a place to buy it for less. Always looking for more for less. Guess I get that from my wife. She is the queen of discount.;););)

do some shopping!!!! the last time i got wood from lone star they sent me wood sheets that was split in half, real heavy,and also got my order wrong twice!!!!! i'm not saying anything bad about them just do some research before you buy !!!!they used to be pretty good when Riley was running it!!!
