Personally I don't see that airplane being worth the over $340 being asked (including the high shipping fee). Some spots are in rough shape, and it don't even include servos or other accessories. Maybe if it was a RTF with everything included (servos, engine, receiver, tx, etc, etc) I would consider it, but prob not. Just my 2cents.

It looks a lot better then mine. I have one on the shelf with an O.S. FP 40, (4) Airtroincs 94102 servos. It does fly very well but no way is it worth over $100.00 including shipping.

It had the shelf paper type covering, plastic wing tips and horizontal tail tips.

Buzz.

I do remember it as the ugliest finish ever on any arf back then and think it still holds that dubious honor.

For whatever its worth when a finish design is that busy and has that many colors it will fade to grey far sooner (closer) than a simpler design.

That airplane has many plastic components and age is not its friend. Its not worth more than around fifty bucks and definately not the cost of shipping.

was it as bad as some of the ealry 90s Great Planes ARFs (Ultra Sport, Patriot 40)that were covered in foam lined plastic with abs platic cowls and wing tips? those were horrible

I remember buying an ARF some time in the late seventies. It allegedly was a .40 size plane with a 48 inch wing span. I put a .40 HP in it that was a real screamer and that is exactly how you had to "fly" that thing. Anything under 3/4 throttle it would start losing altitude and around 1/2 throttle it would quit "flying". It was almost impossible to land as you had to fly it into the ground at somewhere above 1/2 throttle and then slow it down after you got it on the ground. To this day I cringe when I hear "ARF" even though I realize now that there are some really quality ones out there. It's difficult to break old habits.

Dude seriously needs to back away from the crack pipe. A saw a new Avistar at a LHS for about $120.
