Top Speed

Just on a clear and sunny day, with no opposing wind, what is the top MPH speed of most good quality nitro planes, nitro jets and electric planes. I just bought a Stinson Reliant SR 10 and am curious about it too. Joe

RE: Top Speed

Depends on what type of aircraft and what type/size of powerplant.

With that said, can an electric and or a nitro plane / jet reach 60mph+ with a good engine set up? What are some records for electric / nitro?

In AMA control line speed, for various nitro sizes, and dynajets (I think electric also) there is a mandatory rule change to larger diameter wire when the record for any class exceeds 200 MPH.

Thanks Jim! Btw. What is the top mph speed you think on my Reliant? Has a brushless 480.

FYI the fastest model aircraft are gliders. Current record 446 mph. [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByOB4luuvy4]CLICKY[/link]
