Decal paper for printer

Does anyone know if there is some kind of decal sticky back paper? that I can print with my printer. Wish I knew exactly how to say what I am looking for.

Hi Gene.

There used to be a "paper" not actually a paper, but a material that you can print on using a dot matrix printer that you can transfer like a decal. I had some that was used on Tee Shirts and tried to use them on plane wings. I had to transfer it then cover it with clear covering. It was ok, but nothing spectacular.

I have to presume that, since then, there must be something that has advanced from what I had back then. Heck, that was maybe 10 years ago???? I don't recall, but it was very basic at best.

Check into Post-It picture paper. It's a 3M product.

I have been looking for peel and stick clear to print on, I have water slide clear that can be printed on and it works great for decals insignia's etc... you have to make sure your ink in your printer is not water soluble but if you cut the border tight it looks clean

when someone finds the peel and stick stuff post a link

Hey. Had a spare few minutes and came up with this product from Testors. I guess this is the product that Grosbeak used from my last post.

Goirish, I am currently using this product from Avery paper products. 10 sheets 81/2 x 11 inches. Works great. You can get it at most office supply stores. OfficeMax, OficeDepot, etc, etc. About $13.00

Testors has a water slide decal paper you print on with an inkjet printer. A quick spray with the accompanying can of spray locks the inkjet print into the paper. Just a little will do it.

Anything printed with an inkjet printer should be coated with a clear laquer spray before you apply it to your plane. Otherwise the first time you go to clean it, its going to run. I've tried finding waterproof inkjet inks, and was unsuccessful. If you can get access to a color laserjet, there are waterslide decal papers for laserjets, and you don't need to coat them. Work great.

Micro Mark sells [link=http://www.micromark.com/SearchResult.aspx?deptIdFilter=0&searchPhrase=deca l+paper]decal paper[/link]. And if you can find one, Alps printers (long out of business but they're out there) had the capability to print white, which was great for making decals for plastic models on clear decal paper.

Hey Irish,
Papillo IS Texascraft, and like I said b4; they have every concievable paper imaginable! If you ar using an "Inkjet" printer, you will need to coat the decals with "Krylon Clearcoat" available at your local hardware store. Inkjet ink IS water soluble and will not stand up if using waterslide. I bought a Samsung Laser printer for about a $100 and is the best investment for doing decals since laser ink doesn't require a protective coating. All my models have been done over in custom decals and it really makes warbirds stand out!
