a buddy of mine told me about this transmitter... it looks interesting... anyone familiar with it? i did a search but didnt really find much

Well, at $499... that's a lot of loose change to toss around on something that new. I would see if someone writes a review on this and see how that turns out.

I don't trust any product that is marketed to Americans and the distributor can't be bothered to hire someone with at least a 7th grade education in English to write the product info. I'll tolerate Chinglish when buying an $8.99 Hobby King lipo, but not a radio system. On a more substantial note, Walkera is known for producing cheap things, not good things. I've seen and heard more about their helicopters than anything else. Some work ok, but you won't meet someone using their products who had a choice to go with an Align or Synergy and chose a Walkera instead.

Nice looking, but I wouldn't gamble $500 on it. Looks like a JR 11X. Might be worth a try at $199. Lots of well proven radios available at $500.
