Think i posted this on RCU way back and was told what it was...........Will write it down this time if someone can tell me what it is.

I have had it for a good number of years and it will get flown again this summer.I bought it used and it was a good flying model.

S&L Stick is correct. Other Stix have shoulder-mounted wings...

That can very easily be changed. All one has to do is turn a stick fuselage upside down and go from there. :D That is why Midwest's late Frank Garcher came out with the Sweet and Low. Many were making their "Sticks" low wing, including me. Frank thought that doing it for them would make it easier for those rather newbies that lacked the experience of making something different from a what a kit was.

I don't think that a Midwest Sweet and Low would do with a Gas Burner like this picture shows. Of course after Midwest went down there were numerous Kits/ARFs for several years using the "STICK" theme in all kinds of sizes. The pictured model could be any of those as at least one met Big Bird requirements. I don't remember all those specifics.

Does this look like a P-51 (actually made from a MW sport-scale P-51 Kit) or more like a Heinkel HE 100?

You can put German markings on a USAAF aircraft. Like the US was prone to do with Japanese aircraft, the Germans took aircraft that had gone down and pieced them back together using parts from multiple planes. During the later stages of WWII, the US bomber formations found themselves being shadowed by rebuilt B-17s with black crosses and swasticas on them. There suposedly are also records of P-40s, P-51s and Spitfires that were flown by the Germans. As for the US, they got lucky in finding a complete A6M2 with relatively little damage beyond the tail that had flipped trying to land during "Operation AL" in June of 42. By attaching a tail from another crashed plane, the US was able to make changes in the F6F Hellcat design to make it the ultimate "Zeke Killer"

HJ I have no idea what all your aviation history replied to me has to do with my post concerning that some models are not made from a kit but a kit can be used to build something different. In addition one can call a sport model whatever ones wishes. That does not make it true. :eek:
