Don't forget to make sure tx is set on low rates...I made my maiden voyage on hi rates, by accident...luckly got it back in one piece...found my mistake, went back up on low and flew like a dream...just watch throttle, thick wing cord, doesn't need to fly as fast a 4* to perform... HAVE FUN:D

Well it was a little too windy today so i chickened out flying the SSE. RedWing was at the field for moral and hands on support but we decided to wait for another day. Flew my 4*60 instead. With the weather changing fast, I may have to wait till next spring.

Oh gosh you guys. Oh gosh. Nothing bad happend, I just don't know what to do. I have been flying my trainer for 2 years......going to fly it almost every other week on Sat. and then in the summer I fly EVERY DAY.....What should I do. I mean, the first half seems that they.......well.....it's not that they don't recommend the Se as a second plane.......but it's just not a good second plane. Too responsive I guess. I really, seriously have been looking at the 4*, and the SE. Great looking planes. Actually, there was two guys at the field. One lives in Georgia, the other in West Virginia. The field that I fly at is their halfway point where they meet to fly together once a year. Guess what, on had a 4*, the other had a Somethin' Extra. I got to fly the 4* at.......I dunno.....like 5 mistakes high with the old Futaba Gold Box that he had. I couldn't fly the Somethin' Extra. That 4* rolled like a dream. So fast and he didn't even have high rates on!!!! But, I still don't know what to do. I mean I could always fly on the buddy box until I got the hang of it. Let the instructor trim it out and get every last minute adjustments together for me. I would probably buy either one in a kit and build it over the winter and have it ready for Spring in '04. So, I dunno who said it, but will the SE really hang on a .46 FX? I was thinking of like a.......um 52.........or something that would let it hang. I dunno. Well, I dunno which one I will get.......will get back in touch next week when I come home with a kit plane to build; I'll probably get it the week of Thanksgiving. Oh, by the way, for you guys that have th 4* and the SE, what were the kit prices on them both? Just wondering. I am still contemplating on which to buy. The guy that the Hobby Stop in Rock Hill, SC told me that the kit for the SE was $180. I dunno if he said $80 or $180. I don't know. I was on the phone, a I didn't wanna call them again; I call them too much neways to ask questions.........Well, this is a long post and I hope that I get something good that will inspire me to get the SE. It flew beautifully. But, I HAVE TO THANK EVERYBODY FOR WHAT i HAVE FOUND OUT IN THESE POSTS ABOVE. THANKS AAAALLLLLOOOOOOTTTTT.

The SE kit should be around $80, not $180.

Ok I'm gonna throw my .02 in here also. If you feel that you can handle a very touchy aerobat go for the sse. My 2nd plane was a 120 size ultra stick, 3rd plane was a 60 size ultra stick 4th plane a Great Planes Patty wagstaff extra 300s, oh yeh did I mention 2nd to 4th was a 2 month time frame. the thing to remember is that all planes fly due to the exact same principles, only differences are in the way they respond to control inputs. The only way to know for sure if you are ready for it is to try it. if you are going to try wild 3d aerobatics do it very high and remember if you get into trouble chop the throttle and let the sticks go to the neutral positions, let the plane stabilize then fly out of any unusual attitude. belive me I did not learn to hover my Patty 5' off the deck (it was more like 500')

How do you feel about your H-9 Sukhoi with the ZDZ 80? I have one just sitting here brand new with half of the servos in it (all digital) but I was wondering if you think the 80 is the motor for it or would you go with the DA-100 or maybe a 3W-85

Thanks, I was just wondering........well I guess that it is now settled. I'll just get the SE kit, built over the summer, get the money to buy that new Futaba 6EXA from my January birthday, and finish the SE up to fly at the field 4 mistakes high with a buddy box. Thanks Alot.......

AHHH......yes...........the price is good....but other than the usual transmitter, servos, tanks, and like the wheels, what else do you need. Like what kind of CA (I've heard that that is all that you use on this plane except for the major parts like the firewall) Expoy, EXTRA WOOD, # of rolls of monokote (that is what I will use), and any miscelaneous thing that I forgot to mention. Thanks Alot.......

southern_touch9 still have not done the maiden on the plane yet (weather wont cooperate) if you go to my thread in the Giant scale forum I have posted final weight and set up also info on the balance. I have heard a lot of comments on engine choice, it all seems to come down to personel preference. And flying style.
I will say this though the ZDZ engines seem to be very powerfull for the size My Patty with the ZDZ40RV flies more like it has a 50cc. engine in it
