Good Beginner plane
 

Hello I would like to get more into planes and want to know about good electric planes to learn on. I would like to keep the price under 100 bucks and will be teaching myself to fly thanks.

I learned on the GP Flylite and swear by it. It is EASY and SLOW. I even have it set up now as a trainer with a slower speed than stock. I've only "trained" on it once though. My student said it was easier than the Realflight Sim. A sim is highly recommended too. Good luck, there's lots of good planes to learn on probably. How about the champ?

Hobbyzone Champ, $89.99 and free shipping on Ebay. Alot of people got their start on the Champ. It's a real cute little 3 channel Piper Cub, and their easy to fly, very durable, and all the parts are available if you do destroy something. Dennis

Go to the bottom of the threads and read A Newbie goes it alone. Hard to beat the little super cub.

Why are you wanting to teach yourself when there are so many folks willing to help you free of charge?

Why not add another $100 and buy a good simulator. Real Flight 6.5 is a good one and you will save yourself the money of crashing planes while you are learning.

The Hobbyzone Mini Super Cub mentioned above is hard to beat, as is the GWS slow stick for about the same price. The Super Cub bounces better, but if you do manage to break the slow stick it will cost you about $2 and maybe an hour of your time for a new fuselage (it's just a stick). Batteries are cheap for it too.

I also went the same as mentioned above which was the Hobbyzone Super Cub. Was a great first plane and im sure many other pilots will have started out the same way.<div>Regards</div><div>George</div>

Can't beat the HZ Champ for a quick few flights on a calm day at your local park.
