water world

i recently crashed my firebird in the lake. now the electronics are acting nutty. throttle control is intermittent and the rudders just has no response. any suggestions? -ziploc |
RE: water world
Be patient. If you can get covers open (like the receiver) open 'em up. Put a fan on it. Sit it in the sun. Twiddle your thumbs.
I'm an R/C sailor - and yeah, once in a while we sink 'em...they'll dry out fine. If it's still weird, try taking apart the rudder servo.....and if it's STILL weird, *ahem* Tell the manufacturer there's something wrong with your radio..... |
RE: water world
I raced RC hydros for a while and still sail, and yep, I've had my receiver and servos pretty soaked. I'd do the same, Blow it out and keep it in front of warm, dry air. Also buy some anti corrosion / moisture spray from Radio Shack. It'll keep your contacts from corroding and take out any moisture that may still be embedded in the circuit board.
