I have thought about the evolution and the main reason I did not go that way is because I have a few friend that have had that engine and yes they seem to produce a great amount of power but only if you could keep it running. Those that had them had a tough time tuning and keeping it running in the air. Who knows. Not me:D

Straps?? How do you Strap an Engine On? I have never heard of this. I am a newbie, but I have only drilled, tapped and bolted my engines on to the mounts. Can someone show me a picture of an engine strapped on?

I would rather bolt the engine to the mount anyway. Am I taking a chance of weakening the mount if I drill additional holes?

Hi Tozzy, go to the #1 post on the first page of this thread and follow the link to that type mount that chopper man provided.

Note that the threaded mount bed holes are further apart than most of the intended engines mounting lugs. This so that a steel strap can go over the top and it has hole in the ends to match the ones in the mounts beams. This strap goes over the top of the engines lugs and the bolts pinch down on the ends to clamp the engine down. I cannot show you a picture with an installed engine because I do not use that type of mount.

looking at that picture on the upper left push the technical info button and read down to the parts kit that says iso mount and push that button. That is a variation of the strap mount that has a captured rubber cushion that pinchs down on the engines lugs. The idea of course to provide a bit of vibration isolation.

Anyway that's the idea.
