I asked this question in the Park Flyer forum last week and got no response, so I thought I'd ask it here. I was recently given a ParkZone Cub that appears to be complete with the exception of a transmitter and battery. The battery is easy enough, but how can I determine what frequency the thing is on so I can pick up a transmitter? I would fly this puppy if I can find a transmitter for it.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume it's not still printed on the bottom of the battery hatch? :)
I had one several years ago.. (the old 72 Mhz radio and Brushed motor) but pulled the old receiver out long ago..
I don't recall if the frequency was printed anywhere on the receiver or crystal though.
I do still have the TX, which you are welcome to (you'd need to pick up the shipping costs)
you COULD do like I did and just pull the receiver and go 2.4 gHz of course :)

Hey Jim, I want to thank you for your response and your offer. I have done some more research and discovered that this receiver/ESC is on channel 27.045 MhZ. I have searched Ebay and Google for one and can't find one. I'm really not interested in paying much money for parts for a plane that was given to me and only cost $60.00 or so new anyway. So that all being said, if your transmitter is on channel 2 which is 27.045 Mhz, I would gladly pay shipping for it. If it isn't, may I pick your brain a bit? I have no reservations about changing to 2.4 in this thing, but I'm not quite sure how to do it. First, the motor is geared and brushed. I guess I could change to a brushless motor and matching ESC, no problem. That being done, did you replace the servos in the plane? The servos in this plane are hard wired to the receiver/ESC and have six wires going to each one. So I suppose those would have to be changed to the more common three wire servos. Right? I guess what this all amounts to (I'm thinking this through as I type) is completely gut the plane and replace everything. At that point, I can also use 3S Lipos which I already have. I don't see a problem here except for the receiver. I do not have a spare receiver, but I had intended to order a couple more 2.4 receivers anyway. If my thinking is flawed here, please advise.

sounds like a plan, Max... I'll have a look at the old transmitter today and let you know what channel it is...
I did basically gut it and replaced all the electronics.... dropped a $5 Orange RX in it and some $5 servos... :)

Hey Max, apologies that I didn't reply yesterday...
I discovered my TX is on channel SIX... so no go on that part...
(it's not modular of course either, and I tossed the original receiver eons ago.)
anything else I can do just yell. ;)

Thanks for the thought, Jim. I really kind of like changing to 2.4 anyway so I can use a transmitter that I am used to. If the plane flies decently at all, I probably would have done that eventually anyway. Again, thanks.
