"Big Scare"

Today I just finished my build on my Extra decided to start the Dle30 that I haven't had for long, primed up choke on flicked a few times till she gave out a splutter choke off throttle on idle gave her another flick then she fired but at full noise nilly **** myself as I was kneeling in front of the plane, confused from what just happened as the engine was screaming off it's head I leaned over turned off the engine. Lucky I had the plane tied down but it still jumped forward a bit as it tightened the rope . After a sit down and a couple of ciggies I went over the engine to find out what I had done, realised I had the the servo set the wrong way !!!

It's the simple things that bite you in the butt, or other places depending on how you're turned...

Yes , it really could of been a bad day now I know why they say always tie or peg your plane down didn't think that it could start fully opened now I know petrol engine can!!!

I treat my planes like a gun. I assume it will take off full on when I crank it up and I never put anything in front of the plane that I don’t want to lose. Check, double check and then check one more time!

Thankful you were not hurt. Now go out and fly the wings off that thing!

Always double and triple check everything on a new plane and even planes you haven't flown for awhile. At least you knew to secure the plane before starting it.
