Balsa USA Stick .40 plans needed
I got a partially built BUSA Stick .40 from a guy but I believe that the wing needs to be rebuilt. I know that BUSA sells the plans but was just wondering if someone had an old set laying around that they'd let go of. I would sure appreciate it!!!
PM if you do. Thanks. |
Hey flygilmore, Sorry I don,t have plans but if you don't want to spend the money a little imagination may come to the rescue. Those things will fly on a wide variety of wings; Old trainer wings, Cub wings or any number of sport wings. Its not even a big deal to do an installation in most cases.
I think back around 93 or 94 I helped a fellow scab a cub wing to one and it flew pretty good. latter he bought one of those early BTE autopilots. A humongous thing with a actual motor driven gyro roll and pitch sensing. Thing weighted about a pound and a half so the Swizzle Stick was a natural for this and it even sorta worked:D John |
Can you use one of the old ribs to cut out a set of new ribs from? Shouldn't be too hard to build a new one.

I may just scratch build one from my own plans. I've done it before lol! I noticed that BUSA has a wing kit for $21 which isn't a bad price......I'll have to see what wood I have on hand and may just go that route. I'm missing the tail too so I'll have to scratch that one out but it's no issue either.
Thanks for the help! |
I was scratch building an Ultra Sport 40 and found the tail section from an escapade 40 ARF on the scratch and dent table at the LHS for $6. The only damage it had was a small one inch cut in the covering the only draw back was the plane built out nose heavy becouse of the built up tail feathers verses the slab construction usually found on the US40. It is fun to improvise.

I am busy at the moment and will not have much time till Monday, but I swear I have a digital copy here somewhere. I just took a quick peek without any luck, but please bear with me.
