Need servo help!

I bought some Futaba S148 servo's for my build of the DH Gipsy Moth. It will have 58" wing span. The lower wing has a center wing compartment for the aileron servo which is too small, thickness wise, for the servo I bought.
Any suggestion for what Futaba or other brand servo to use that's a little smaller height wise and with enough torque?. I'm using a Saito FA62B engine.
Thanks for any help you can offer! Doc

If you look around there are quite a number of reduced height standard footprint servos like this one https://www.pololu.com/product/2148

I remember Futaba doing an analogue one that should be cheaper but the ID number escapes me.

I just looked at it! Wow! Thanks!

After looking at my servo issue I have decided to add an aileron servo in each wing! That will make it nice and clean. This kit is from 1986 and I know the servo tech has changed too. Adding bell cranks seemed like it could turn into a rube goldberg mess which helped in my decision. So now, after doing much research on wing servos, I'm confused as to which one to use! Can you suggest which to try? Doc

Any standard servo will be fine.

Somebody turned me on to Solar brand servos from Hobby Parts.. You can buy digital.high voltage, high torque, ball bearing servos for under $25.00. I realize these cannot be the best servos in the world, but for simple sport flying, you gotta consider them.

The name of the company that sells these ends with a Z instead of an S, but the spell checker on this dampened Kindle will not allow that.

Would a Hitec HS55 be sufficient?

No, not on a 40-size plane. Those are for small planes. If you want to use a smaller servo use an HS-81.

Thanks! I'll spend part of today trying to design a mount for the S148 which may fit with sufficient clearance when mounted on it's side.

Solar servos are also available from Nitro Planes and are very affordable budget priced units with better than average performance. I have been using both the analog and digitals in my sport models with very good results.

Hi!
I would go with a Hitec 225 servo.
