Cleaning engines.
FYI, cleaning engines can be a hassle, I learned this trick a long time ago and it works well.
Strip your engine and remove any and all "O" rings such as on the carb. Place all the parts including the muffler in a garage sale CROCK POT and cover with full strength anti-freeze and turn on high, let "cook" for 6 to 8 hours in a ventilated area. Remove all parts with "HOTDOG TONGS" and flush with water, any left over burned on oil will come off easily with a small metal brush. You can store the crock pot with anti-freeze in it with lid on under your work bench or somewhere where it won't be in the way, the anti-freeze will last for a very long time. I guess I shuda done a "search" on this subject before posting, it seems there are at least FORTY pages on cleaning engines and parts........:) |
There are lots of pages on this for sure, and one warning that can't be repeated enough is the toxicity and sweet taste of antifreeze. You must make sure no dogs will get close to the crock pot unless you want to kill them. I don't know if they'd drink it hot, but they'll definitely drink it at normal temperature and die very painfully a few hours later.
