Couple Questions
A couple questions if I may. Are all CA glues the say foam safe, safe for all foams? Can the accelerators be used for all CA glues?
I read somewhere that foam planes can have some additional protection by painting them with something. Anyone know what that something is. I thought polyurethane but not sure. Thanks Bob |
I found Zap foam safe to be safe with all foams I used it on. I always used the matching kicker. Regular kicker dissolves some foams [ ask me how I know this }
I am always concerned about weight so don't use much paint but got good results with a cheap airbrush and waterbased acrylics. |
Polyurethane should be safe, over your foam, as will polycryllic.
A friend protects his foamies with Future floor polish. |
Some guys use Gorilla glue with good results
|
I would always test a small, hidden area to be safe. Also, on the kicker, sometimes the kicker itself is ok, but the propellant in the spray can will melt the foam. So you can hold the spray can further back so you get more kicker and less propellant. Or just buy your kicker in the pump spray bottle instead of the aerosol. :)
