CA Hinge Disaster
 

I'm assembling a H-9 T-Craft. Got the hinges on one wing and aileron with no problem. Other wing half is in trouble. Aileron is postioned too close to the wing tip side and won't deflect all the way down and leaving too large a gap on the other edge.
Is there any way to loosen these things or is cutting and slotting new ones the only solution?:(

You might try to use debonder but am afraid the final answer will be to cut the old ones out and reinstall new ones next to where the old ones were.

Rodney got it perfectly right. Cut and replace into adjacent slots. Debonder debonds a lot of things including ribs fastened to the trailing edge.

When you set hinges use a t pin and poke it in the center
of all the CA hinges. This will set your space you need between
the control surface. PLus it keep you from getting in that
trouble again.

Another ditto to Rodney's post.

Either cut new slots next to the old hinges, or drill where the hinges are and use Robart Hinge points.

If I understand you the aileron is shifter left ot right and rubbing the inside of the wing tip? Not that it is to close to the TE of the wing.

I have the same problem with my GP Supersportster.

The fix several club memeber gave me was to very carefully and very slightly cut off some of the aileron where it rubs. Then simply use CA to glue some covering back on it. Xacto makes a very fine saw blade for their tools which should work fine.
