Your engine is a Babe Bee (.049 cub. inch or .8cc). The Pee Wee is a .020cub. inch or .33cc.

i also should say that this is a very old engine? i mean going back 30 years

can u post a pic next to somthing we can size it up by? lika a pencil or a ruler so we can get a idea of the size?

at the moment we really carnt tell by that pic although if your measurements are right is a baby bee 0.49....

as for its age, yes that is a old one, the (bee) line of engines have been running for years, but they are still making them, althought the new ones normaly have plastic tanks, and they dont look as nice ;)...

now on to the plane issue i have £100 which is about $165 would i be about to make the plane R/C for that much?

one thing i want to know is what your doing with $ if your in the uk ??? :D lol

just checked and thats about £100, if you shop around in the local paper and the bargain pages is a good place to start, you can pick up some good deals if you bide your time, i had my Sanwa computer radio set for 25 quid because the guy didnt know how to use it, brand new still in box :)....

basically your after just a simple set with the receiver and servos if possible :) but remember its got to be on !!!!!!!!35 MHz!!!!!!!!! the old stuff is 27 MHz and is only used on R/C cars and boats now....


as your on a tight budget the !QUOT!attack 4!QUOT! system by futaba may be a good shot as there getting old now and many R/C pilots have a old attack 4 system lying around they may want to get rid of.....

the good thing is your only going to need 2 servo's to start with as there's no throttle on the baby bee....

but before you go spending your money run the engine up first as it may be nakered :) and your going to be stuck with a radio set and no plane or engine lol....

Looks like a .049 (Cox?). A good model for this engine is the DAS SPLATT. Go to Radio Control Modeler's (RCM), plan page. Plans are about 3 pounds.

While you're ordering, include the magazine's , Pilot Traiining Course, instruction manual (7 pounds).

Well you've got the engine, get a 1/2a plane and fly it. Thats where the sport started out. You don't need a lot of electronics to have fun. And "electrics" are not cheaper, thats a myth. Save your money, get a used trainer, find a local club and hang out . A lot of the old geezers love to help the new blood get started.
