could it be CG?

Hello all...

Just a quick question...
I recently have been flying my soarstar parkflyer. Its a great time and is a lot of fun to fly. Just today I had it up and it kept wanting to head down instead of straight. I had to really struggle with the elevator to keep it up. What do you think could have caused this? My linkages were all tight and stable. The only thing I can think is maybe it was the CG....maybe I need to move my battery pack further back (which is now at the very front). Any suggestions?

Thanks

Uicfletch, check that the elevator is neutral when you turn on and that the trim lever on your Tx hasn't accidently got pushed up. Go with recommended CG and secure battery and Rx so that it doesn't shift around.

My flight instructor told me that a nose heavy plane flies very difficult and a tail heavy plane flies once.

Just thought I'd help. :D

Be sure the CG is within the correct range. THe instuctions should tell you the distance from the leading edge.

control rods

I am just wondering if your control rods have changed? Some materials used for push rods expand, or contract due to heat, cold, humidity. It may be that your elevator rod has expanded thereby pushing the elevator a bit up from the neautral position. If thats the case you may have to readjust the connections before flying. Is it possible that you just have the trim at a different setting? Maybe this helps, Fast!

RE: could it be CG?

From your post, sounds like you've been flying with the battery up front for a while without a problem and only the last few flights have changed? I'm new to flying and just built and flew a Soarstar this weekend, the CG on mine with the stock battery has it located almost under the wing. It flies very level with the battery located there? May not help much given the change in flight characteristics you've seen but another input.
