spoiler programming - hitec flash 5x
could anyone please tell me how to get spoilers working with the flash 5x?
i want it so that when i use teh THROTTLE stick for spoilers, the elevator compensates automatically. How do I program this? Thanks! |

I'd have to consult my manual, but there are a different modes for the transmitter. You are probably in "acro" mode which doesn't have a spoiler option. Try the glider mode.

my problem is that i can get it to work on a 3 position switch, but i want it to work on the throttle stick. so im lost...

You probably can't. You can plug the spoiler servo into the throttle slot on the receiver to get it on the throttle stick, but then you can't mix it w/ the elevator.

Ahh, this stinks. I was hoping to build my new glider with top and bottom mounted spoilers, and activate the top spoilers only for RES contests. Now it looks like I'll have to fly outside of the RES class, which is ok since I don't fly in that many contests.

ORIGINAL: nilo Sorry my ignorance, but what spoilers are exactely? Nilo In contests we use spoilers to help land the plane precisely on the field, as a glider tends to float along at 5 feet for a long way - often a 100 feet to 100 yards! |
RE: spoiler programming - hitec flash 5x
Would it looks like the dinamic air breaks we see over the wings on comercial planes?
Would it have any use in scale models? Nilo |
RE: spoiler programming - hitec flash 5x
I don't know about spoilers on full size planes. Our scale models usually fly at wingloadings that mean without any thrust they descend pretty quickly. I'd say they aren't really necessary unless you want it for scale appearance. This is unlike, say, retracts where they are necessary for look both flying and on the ground but also for function (plane flies better with wheels up).
