Building a 4* 60 kit which would be the better engine for it 2 stroke or 4 stroke and what make and size.open for suggestions,please.

I like the TT 61, is an excelent engine... but... happily you can find great 0.60 engines in the market

if cost isn't an issue, i would reccomend a .91 four stroke. i like the os. it sounds great, has a lot of power fora non supercharged engine, and is pretty stingy on fuel. if cost is a real isue than a two stroke will be in order. everybody is going to tell you what engine to get, and everybody else will have a different answer. i prefer four strokes

I am preparing to start building my 2nd plane now. Like Everyone else I am going with the U Can Do 60. After watching a ton of various .60 size planes fly at the club it looks pretty clear that you need at least a .71 bare minimum even better a .91 if you really want a .60 size plane to be able to perform aerobatics with unlimited vertical capabilities. I am going with the .91FS engine. and am hoping I can contain myself on the throttle while I am learning so I dont make a super fast trip into the pavement. My teacher took the U CAN DO 60 with a .71FS engine through the entire advanced pattern with relative ease but it was a little sluggish vertically. As spaceclam said if you can afford the initial investment I think that the 4 stroke is the way to go. Its quiter, more fuel efficient plus it just sounds better. ;) Very high COOL factor. OS .91FS Surpass is a little over $225,,, I have been shopping for a while now and watching different planes fly and it seems to be the best for the money in a .60 size plane.

I bought my first 4 stroke this spring. May never buy another two stroke, just no comparison.

I have a fourstar 60, and had an OS .91 and a Saito GK 100 on it. Both flew the plane very well. The vertical was not "unlimited" but, it got it as high as I wanted it, very easily. As the others have said, it depends on how much money you want to spend. If that is not a concern, I would strongly recommend the Saito Golden Knight. The only thing that looks better on the front of an airplane is a multi-cylinder! And the sound is GREAT.

Here's my opinion.

4*60 engine = Thunder Tiger 91 Four Sroke

My first glow plane/first 4 stroker. Very satisfied.
