motor angle direction??
hello I have elec motor and thought that the motor needed to be angled to the left to compensate for the right rotation but after flying today I'm not so sure. As you look down on the plane nose pointing away how should the motor be pointing? Thanks

RE: motor angle direction??
If it flys well now, without any tendency to pull to the right, or up by itself, leave it as it is.
Should it seem to always want to veer right or up as high power is applied, consider 2 or 3 dgerees in the direction opposite the pull. |
RE: motor angle direction??
Usually an engine is angled 2 degrees to the right of the centerline of the plane.

RE: motor angle direction??
Right thrust is normal. Sounds like you put in left thrust. The amount will vary from plane to plane; some do not have any built in, others may have as much as four degrees.
I'm guessing that the plane you're talking about is no larger than a speed 400 size, so two degrees should be plenty to start. Dennis- |
RE: motor angle direction??
Some right and some down thrust is usually required for best results.

RE: motor angle direction??
I think rafter is right but I think he is looking at the airplane from the front end. His left thrust is OUR right thrust. Rafter, airplane convention is to look at everything as if you are sitting inside the airplane. So if you are looking at the nose of the airplane from the rear and you still saying left thrust then its wrong.
