I owned 2 houses in the same town, where I've lived 27 years. Small one was rented to my son and his wife UNTIL they had a first child due. We agreed to a swap. I moved from 1/5 acre yard, 8 rooms, two 2-car garages basement, to 4 large rooms, one 1-car heated attached garage and 1/10 acre of yard. I have a FIRE BAT on top of the High Boy chest in the bed room, a home-made airplane rack in the garage with wings, and 3 planes hanging from wheels or props (electric) from that rack. Accross the garage ceiling is a heavy wire, with 3 planes hanging from it suported by rubber bands or fuselages. Finally in a clothes closet stands a fuselage for the Odyssee. I do not want to put any aircraft outside in a small shed because it is crowded with bicycles, tools, lawn mower, etc.
ARE THERE ANY SUGESTIONS FROM SMALL- HOME OWNERS, OR APARTMENT DWELLERS?

You could hang your airplanes up in different places in the house. If you do it right, then they can become ornamental rather than eyesores. Just hang them in an out of the way corner or something. I've got a friend that has a scratch build DR-1 hanging up in his kitchen. It's the first thing you see when you walk in, and it looks great up there.

You are afflicted with the same problem as many other modelers. I have a two car garage but very little of it is used for shelves and storage. Half of it is my model shop so one car sits outside. I use the walls of the entire garage. I hang glow aircraft, engine up, and the electrics, motor down, on hooks made to fit. The planes are flat against the wall and take up little room. Now if you will tell me how to store three sailboats, without unrigging them, we'll be even.

Ballgunner: Could you possible store the sail boats between the shop area and the one car in the garage, sail down, sort of like a curtain?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] Really, If I had boats, that would be a problem. Maybe build a pond and dock?!

I live in a three bedroom appartment . The smallest room is where I build . all my scale plane hang in the living room and when people come over they only have good comments . My wife and daughter even liks them up there . Also ther are nice and warm not to dry not to damp just right.

I'm mainly into rc boats, but the same problem. I built a 12x16 barn style shed. It's insulated and heated. Have all the room in the world to store everything in my rc collection. Just a thought.
